Thank you for posting. Is any information available as to the advantages of the 2 mainspring barrels? Is there reduced amplitude drop when engaged? Lovely looking movement....Again....from JLC

In the Classic Chronograph system, the Chrono shares its energy from the same barrel. Here, with this Duo Metre, there is no need for a coupling clutch for the Chronograph functions. So, there is no interference on the rate of the watch when the Chronogra... 

The chrono mechanism still needs to be switched in and out of the control of the escapement. Sorry, my question concerning amplitude should have been reversed: there are 2 power flows, both controlled by a single escapement, so the impulse should increase... 

As the barrel of the Chrono has its own energy, energy which was given by the common escapement. So the barrel is like a tank, which was efilled by the escapement. Once refilled, there is no influence on the rytthm of the impulse. Best. Nicolas

Thanks again for taking the time to respond. Like all new movements, I think I will have to stare and stare at it until I understand. Pieces like this is why I admore JLC so much. Do you have any more movement diagrams to help my staring efforts.

I'd say one of the nicest, if you compare it to some very tempting creations, like the Reverso Platinum Tourbillon Skeleton, the Gyro I and II, or the Perpetual Calendar Skeleton for example... PC Skeleton: Reverso Skeleton Tourbillon: Gyro II: Gyro I: Ag...  

I really enjoyed seeing the skeleton Touby. It has a blissfull simplicity to it. I hope I can see one in flesh someday! Kind Regards, Fred Bonatto

Now I just have to stare at the pictures for a while to work out how the power flow from the barrels doesn't alter the impulse.
