For me too, the Duo Metre à Chronographe is a reference
Among the PP 5070, the VC Les Historiques Chrono and...Of course the Lange, Datograph.
Between all these refs, the Duo Metre is on the top, really.
Technically more spohisticated than a Dato, as I said in the Review I made about it.
After the color of the metal is not that important, IMO...
Although I prefer the platinum for its stunning elegance and discretion, the RG is another interesting choice.
I'd put the YG LE in 3rd position, as I prefer the grained dialof the platinum and RG version...
But, as usual, a matter of taste...

BLDJ, here are some answers
In the Classic Chronograph system, the Chrono shares its energy from the same barrel. Here, with this Duo Metre, there is no need for a coupling clutch for the Chronograph functions. So, there is no interference on the rate of the watch when the Chronogra...
+ amplitude
The chrono mechanism still needs to be switched in and out of the control of the escapement. Sorry, my question concerning amplitude should have been reversed: there are 2 power flows, both controlled by a single escapement, so the impulse should increase...
There is no reduction nor increase of the impulse, BLDJ.
As the barrel of the Chrono has its own energy, energy which was given by the common escapement. So the barrel is like a tank, which was efilled by the escapement. Once refilled, there is no influence on the rytthm of the impulse. Best. Nicolas

Now I just have to stare at the pictures for a while to work out how the power flow from the barrels doesn't alter the impulse.
