As you can see in the International Guarantee, LeCoultre is the same company as Jaeger LeCoultre, I have to do some more digging but I believe they used the LeCoultre name out

of convenience in the US, an already established name which ended up paying less taxes (on top of what they already did with casing the movements in the US)




$450 back in the 60s, does anyone have a price reference by year? Maybe we could narrow down the watch by the price tag to at least a couple years.

I know the 818 was introduced in 1959 and I believe through looking online and comparing some models that the 818 in the Galaxy series appeared around the late 1960s

I'll have to post my findings and a bit of history in another thread.
