It will be indeed difficult to love ALL the new releases, this year, Val
As JLC played on so different grounds, from the Classic to the Modern, not to say concept watch passing by some revisited models.
Each of us will have his own " champions "...

Thanks for your input, my friend.
Best,
Nicolas

as a full-time 'user' of the 1st ewc i am glad that jlc tastefully, yet meaningfully updated the king of haute sports/activity watches. while personally i find myself more drawn to the original edition, the new versions give others with differing tastes m...

throw out the baby with the bath water! Not to worry, my foreign language skills are limited, much more so than yours, I'm sure. To be sure, I think the original is the more well-rounded watch, the new ones are more more sportive and fill that role nicely...
EWC 2.0
By: Casey : January 28th, 2010-19:00
One of the things I find interesting is that the new EWC Ti/SS is now a Limited Edition of 500, where the first generation was not. Visually I think the font used on the hour counter sub dial on the second generation EWC really cleans up the dial, making ...

Well I for one am not too keen about the Limited Edition phenomenon... I rather think JLC should re think it, and only release a LE for special watches, and not watches which will know further developments. I'm pretty sure we'll see other EWCs in the futu...
I dont like the dial!
By: joydivision : January 29th, 2010-03:19
I have one of the first ewc and this new dial imho ruins the watch making it look cheap and decreases legibility. That kind of dial i have seen on many cheap watches. The other small changes i think are welcome. And the strap is great i have to get one fo...

My EWC is my most frequent companion and remains equally accurate even when I leave the chronon on for extended periods of time. The ther thing is the pwoer reserve on mine i s much closer to the originally stated 72 hours rather then the revised 65 hours...
Well....

first of all thanks for the presentation..... I do like this newer version better... the dial is smother and more retro (subdial) as you pointed out.... It is slimmer.... the size is 46.5 right?.... I would like to see it in metal and test it on my wrist....
Stunning EWCs to me!
By: Mr.Gatsby : January 30th, 2010-02:30
Nico, haven't seen any of them in the metal as of now, but I would think - judging from the stock photos and the ones you took - that the rose gold variant would be a better looking watch with a bit more contrast on the rose gold casing and the dark grey ...

My humble two cents, the new design strikes me as somewhat disjointed and doesn’t fit with my tastes (the new subdials being an exception to this comment), but I applaud JLC for the continued pursuit of innovation. Besides, I am consumed by the NS Automat...

Like the subdials, love the strap, don't know about the Texalium and the thinner bezel, I kind of like the balance of my old EWC. Like everything though need to see it in the flesh. Thanks for the great report Nico.
