As beautiful as the Great Wave is and given its size the detail is exquisite, the dial is a wonder itself representing the waves in the bay. It is a wonderful execution using very old hand operated machines. The skill involved is beyond my understanding. The light catching the waves on the dial is very difficult to capture and is truly breathtaking on even the dullest day.
I am very interested in the artistic elements in watches. I find it difficult to distinguish the skills at JLC from the rare handicrafts watches and clocks at Patek which seem to be substantiallly more expensive.
Such handicrafts are a pleasure to my eyes and I think are best represented without complications. This Reverso is simply a wonder to behold.
Naturally I would be too embarrassed to admit “how much it might be going for.”
Thanks to everyone for your wonderful comments - I hope your watch journeys are similarly enjoyable to my own.
