I have seen one acquaintance putting on aftermarket strap on a Squadra.
It didn't look right to me. But if you can find one that is thick enough on the wider side (between the lugs) and thing enough on the narrow side (to fit into the deployant clasp) then I think it is worth a try.
Personally, I think the watch will look best on the straps offered by JLC or a direct copy but not a generic strap.

Test some others, you will see if it pleases you or not.
