...is I give my original strap to a local crocodile farm, tell them what I want (color, finishing, etc.) and wait one month. I paid around USD 80 for the brown strap below, for example.

The original black from IWC is too long for my use. I asked my strap maker to shorten the long side somewhat and to change the hole position so that the first hole is now in between the first two holes on the original strap. Now the watch will never be too loose or too tight on my wrist. I have had a strap made for my XGT size Reverso also but making one for the Squadra may prove to be more difficult because of its structure.

I live in Bangkok, Thailand, so you must check your local options. This is only to give you an idea of what may be possible.

To be honest you could probably get away with a standard leather strap as long as the with of the strap is correct. The question is will the way the strap feel and fits meet your needs. That is a question you can only. The design of the strap from JLC is ...

Test some others, you will see if it pleases you or not.

It didn't look right to me. But if you can find one that is thick enough on the wider side (between the lugs) and thing enough on the narrow side (to fit into the deployant clasp) then I think it is worth a try. Personally, I think the watch will look bes...
