To be honest you could probably get away with a standard leather strap as long as the with of the strap is correct. The question is will the way the strap feel and fits meet your needs. That is a question you can only. The design of the strap from JLC is specific to the Reverso in thickness and position to hold the watch in place in a contiguous manner.
I am sure you will hear some interesting ideas and opinions from other members.

Test some others, you will see if it pleases you or not.

I have seen one acquaintance putting on aftermarket strap on a Squadra.
It didn't look right to me. But if you can find one that is thick enough on the wider side (between the lugs) and thing enough on the narrow side (to fit into the deployant clasp) then I think it is worth a try. Personally, I think the watch will look bes...
