I recently had the occasion to admire a watch we often speak about...The Master Ultra Thin... And it's logical, as it is a beautiful and affordable watch. Launched in 1994, the MUT was offered in several versions, in SS of course, but also in White Gold w...

Very tasteful, Nicolas . . .

. . . and, if I may say so, the type of watch that doesn't get the attention and adulation it so richly deserves . . . I'm finding myself drawn more towards simple watches, and most of the watches I'm seriously contemplating now are time-only designs, or ...

Thanks Nicholas for these wonderful close-up shots of the movement! Is the dial really dark blue? Do you know what it is coated with? It looks metallic. BTW, I got my Master Ultra Thin manual from the dealer circa 2006. It is an entire manual dedicated to...

Very pretty!

 By: Mark  : February 18th, 2008-11:51
It looks wonderful. I've never actually come across a MUT at a dealer. From the numbers, the 34mm would put me off, but it sure looks nice. Great macro shots ! Regards Mark

Our Moderator,do you own one too?

 By: BHK9 : February 19th, 2008-06:28
Sir, No doubt its a loely one, like it in pt and wg very much. But do you own one? I just want to know from a person whom admires lots of big, chuncky watches.will you choose to have one? BHK9

Wow, wow, wow, BHK9

 By: amanico : February 19th, 2008-07:14

I perfectly understand you

 By: amanico : February 19th, 2008-07:09
As I took a long time to consider it, I have to admit, for a silly reason...The size. If you don't already have this kind of watch in your collection, you should think about this MUT... For its price, it's one of the very best, maybe the best!!! Nicolas

A Calatrava, imran??? LOL nt

no sweeping second hands ("mock horror"!!!) what will the purists say...? but i love my 5140 anyway. thanks for lovely photos. There's a JLC boutique at Raffles Hotel with a huge, huge poster of the JLC tourbillon watch...and have been yearning for the Si...

sh, s the lack of the central second a problem for you? <

 By: amanico : February 21st, 2008-22:47
Really? I'm sure that it's nort a problem, as this is the lack of a central second that contributes to the purity of the design, IMO. Tell me sh, you had the chance to see the MR Sincere LE? Did you take any pic of it? I have one but I suspect it to be a ...

I know everybody's entitled to their own opinion...

 By: drsh : February 22nd, 2008-07:07
but i'm tired of other enthusiasts looking at my 5140 and pointing out that if only it has a second hand... No problem Nic...love my 5140, every bit of it...and love the MUT! Now with Sincere....They are killing me, man, with the DS, TZ and the LP (soon, ...

 By: amanico : February 22nd, 2008-07:21
I heard that it cots something like a Kidney and a Half...LOL I'd love to see a good pic of this watch, as when I prepared my review of the MMR, I was searching like a crazy man , desperatly, a good pic, and I fell on a photoshop one, or seemed to be one....

will try...

 By: drsh : February 22nd, 2008-16:57
