All too often we tip toe around these issues. I appreciate brutal honest views. I am aware of the resale value and it is a major consideration. I have tried to shape my collection by movements and yet I fall short of my own rules. I will need to think long and hard about this piece. It's not extremely expensive but again will she fit with the family

Well.. I'm a bit confused, as your pic features the Universal Time, but you asked about TT Geophysic 1958 (?!)..
.. as far as the TT Geophysic is concerned, I really love mine: - it has historical DNA, IMO also balanced charm & is unobtrusive , but versatile: - You can dress it up or down, she will mold in.. Thus, on a personal note, you probably cannot GP wrong. Go...
+1...this issue still irks me.
A true lost opportunity for JLC. An interesting manual movement, even at a decently higher price, would IMO been taken up by collectors very quickly.
By the way, I still like the TT Geophysic 1958 that JLC produced.
But it could and should have been more special.
