Some here wanted to see this special Extrem World Alarm, so I received a call from the Paris JLC Boutique to inform me that it was here for some pics. That's true that we don't often speak of this model, I mean the current E.W.A. Maybe because it is a big...  

It is a large watch, but the extra real estate allows the watch to have lots of information without looking crowded IMO. Thanks for the pictures!

As you, I think that the EWA is a bit ignored, because of its place in the JLC family. The EWC, the Alarm watches, and just between, the EWA, which is unique because the association Alarm + World time is a grande premiere! THE EWC and the Alarm Watches ha... 

I think the toned-down grey effect of the titanium case works very well with this watch, and the blue markers set the design off very nicely. A very nice looking watch indeed. Thanks for sharing. Is this watch limited to 300 pieces? regards Bretta

The combo titanium / black dial and blue touches is very appealing, to me. After, this is a matter of taste. As for the number of pieces in this LE, it is 350, not 300. Best, Nicolas

I thought that you were my friend..... Why do you provoke me? I love this watch (although I prefer the original version with the red accents)- the alarm is an excellent function and the strap changing!!!!!! What can I say. I wish that all watches had this... 

That 's why watches are to be seen in the flesh, my friend. They may look ugly in pics and be very nice in the flesh, and vice et versa... And the wrist test is mandatory. I changed my mind on the EWA, even if I won't buy it, as I already own an ...Army o...

Is the alarm setting eaisier and more specific on this EWA than it is on the Memovox and Polaris models due to the side disks on the EWA v. the center disk arrow on the other models? Does the EWA alarm sound at the more accurate time than the other alarm ... 

but also how does the alarm sound compare to the Memovox or the Polaris? Cheers

I had a chance to test the alarms of the EWA and my own MC Memovox. I handled the EWA at Tourneau in Pennsylvania so I can only assume it was the non-titanium edition, although it did have the blue face and blue indicators. I found the alarm on the EWA to... 

The Alarm on the EWA is less strong than on the MC Memovox, but more crystaline, that is true. The Caliber is not the same, too. Thanks for this precision, and for your input. Best, Nicolas

I own the Tides of Time model originally referenced in the thread... while some Panerai have used JLC movements, I'm pretty sure that your PAM 238 - a beautiful watch - used a GP-modified A. Schild caliber. BEst, Tim

I mean it has a lot of the attributes of the EWC that we like AND it is an alarm!!! You already have the Memovox, however, so perhaps you are not as "desperate" as I am for an alarm. I like this version very much, but I am also very much in like with the ...

I think they are two entirely different watches sharing only the common alarm function, but even the implementation of the setting of the alarm is qute different on the two. I guess that is why in a perfect world, greedy Robert would have both! PinkPanthe...

It seems all too often JLC (and others) are lumped into the category of ONLY producing more discreet and formal watches, and when something a little more brash and large comes out, it is dismissed as being impure. Why not do both!?

I don't think JLC offers only discrete watches. Look, for example, at the Master Compressor Family, or at the Squadra WT. They are not really discrete watches, to me, or not really classics. But I do agree with you, why not both?!!! Best, Nicolas

...with these classic pieces, and when something like this comes along, it can throw people off of their perceptions of what the brand offers, hence the luke-warm reception. I like how JLC does everything from time-only ultra-thin pieces, to grand complic...
