IWC EasX-Change Short Straps for BP43

Nov 19, 2021,04:19 AM

After a 5-month wait since the request was made, the short 21mm EasX-Change straps for small wrists have finally arrived!

Standard lengths are 135/65mm, while the short one measures at 125/55mm (total 20mm shorter).

I'm still waiting for my quick release buckle, which should arrive in a few weeks. Oddly when IWC first sold the Big Pilot 43, some of them came with non-quick release type deployant (as opposed to those marketed in IWC videos). You will still find this configuration on some BP43 sold in the market.

Cheers!

It helps that winter is just around the corner. Desert summer and leather would have been a different story.

Great concept

Something funny with IWC production-it took my AD 5 months to get a strap for my Top Gun too….

Not too excited about the quick release buckle...

Can't figure out how to undo it and neither could the boutique guys. No instructions available either, at least not yet. ...

IWC’s youtube video seems to show how.

The lug end system looks similar to the system on the bronze Aquatimer I sold. The system was prone to inadvertent release with an impact to the outer surface of the strap. Mine fell overboard when my wrist brushed the edge of the windshield. Thankfully I...

Looking at the Aquatimer design, the spring bars are very exposed. The straps (which also appear clipped to the case) have limited rotational movement, and likely semi-rigid? The spring bars do not look like it would help in the event of a strong force th...

Thank you for the detailed reply!

The systems do appear different and hopefully each are an evolution that is more secure and reliable. I think a design that allows for tool free removal and replacement straps would be great if it also allowed for replacement with conventional nonpropriet...

I really like the aquatimer design so...

This sounds like a real letdown for me
