Looks scary to me.
The lug end system looks similar to the system on the bronze Aquatimer I sold. The system was prone to inadvertent release with an impact to the outer surface of the strap. Mine fell overboard when my wrist brushed the edge of the windshield. Thankfully I was docked in shallow water.
The buckle end looks a whole lot like the JLC quick release on my Tue Second deployant. Unfortunately, that is also a poor design that relies on a friction fit. Mine has fallen apart during strap changes and I know fellow JLC owners that have suffered the same failure.
I hope I am wrong on both counts, and these are improved designs.

After a 5-month wait since the request was made, the short 21mm EasX-Change straps for small wrists have finally arrived! Standard lengths are 135/65mm, while the short one measures at 125/55mm (total 20mm shorter). I'm still waiting for my quick release ...
I’m hoping so.
It helps that winter is just around the corner. Desert summer and leather would have been a different story.

Can't figure out how to undo it and neither could the boutique guys. No instructions available either, at least not yet. ...

The systems do appear different and hopefully each are an evolution that is more secure and reliable. I think a design that allows for tool free removal and replacement straps would be great if it also allowed for replacement with conventional nonpropriet...
