The systems do appear different and hopefully each are an evolution that is more secure and reliable. I think a design that allows for tool free removal and replacement straps would be great if it also allowed for replacement with conventional nonproprietary straps. The Aquatimer system included a fixed bar in lieu of a spring bar. So it was not only insecure, it also prevented one from swapping for other straps.
Next time I’m at an AD, I’ll ask for a demo of this system.
