Paul Gerber Watches

We haven’t seen our heard much from Paul lately — I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s partially retired (I am, and he’s a bit older than me). Some here may remember he was the watchmaker who over a period of years helped create “the world’s most complicated w...

Very unusual 'rotors'...

Gerber always seemed like he made 'fun' watches...nothing stuffy.

Yes...the Retro Twin is the first one I remember that caught my eye...

...I had never seen rotors like that before. Don't know if it's a good idea or not, but they look awesome : )

High horology and high post

Not only the subject, your quality post is at journalism level. The pictures telling a story, and a joy to read. The watches are one of a kind. Triple rotors, who came to that idea? PG! Great that you wrote ‘it is not that efficient, but to look at a show...

Thanks for a nice post on Paul Gerber.

I've got a Retro twin in WG tucked away at the bank. Also, recently sold my MIH. His talent seems pretty exceptional.

Have always appreciated the design of the Purists engraving on the dial ever since I discovered this watch

But was too late to put my name in the hat previously. Enjoy your watch! Regards

He’s almost there

He has a handful of watches left to produce. To my knowledge 30 or so Model 42s and at least 4 Model 41s. Here are the two new dials being produced for the final 30. Grey dial found on none other than Mr. Gerber’s wrist😉 Once he has finished the aforement...

I could use some of those applied numerals to cover the disintegrating lume on my P10!

Or maybe it's time to find the second dial that came with this watch... ...

Get him to make...

A third dial before it is too late?

I don't think it would make sense

 By: cazalea : July 10th, 2022-19:58
He made a number of them as there was an issue with the reflectivity and the coating on the dial. If he's like most watchmakers he has a few in the back of his dial drawer... I'll hunt down mine - it's in the original box which is one of a half dozen pile...

Hopefully..

You will find it..

Eureka! I found it

The case, papers, polish cloth, salmon strap, etc. If I remember correctly, the dials were cut and then treated to reduce future corrosion. The first set were too dark for Paul's taste, so he made another 10 and treated them in a different technique which...

I can see why...

Many things are hard to find for you, Mike.

You found it in your backyard?!😜

Yes, my workbench is made of bricks set in soil

Unconventional, but it works for me (because it so rarely rains here). The End 😉 ...

I love the PuristsPro PG model.

Sadly I discovered the forum just after this edition was commissioned so never had a chance to acquire one. I am a big admirer of Paul’s Work. Here’s my custom Synchron checking in’ 🙌💓 ...

Excellent post and thanks for the reminder

I seem to remember first learning about these watches 10 or so years ago when I was getting into the hobby. It’s a shame he isn’t as well recognized as other independents. The double and triple rotors really are fun and creative, efficiency be damned! ...
