Well, resonance is resonance...

Well, resonance is resonance. It relies on physics anyway. Personaly, I'd rather call it mechanical because it is compression waves at the base level.

Now regarding (1) the distance between wheels or (2) sound transmission through mainplate/bridges, I "do not understand" either.

The -short- distance between wheels have been proven irrelevant with, at least the Armin Strom that puts the wheels, at least 1-2 mm away, and with a structure in-between. Take a look at Haldimann as well as Vianney Halter and you will realize that distance is not an issue.

Regarding the sound transmission, first thing we need to understand is that the loudest sound by far in the swiss lever escapement is the drop sequence. And at that time, the balance is already away, free. So the resonator cannot really be affected by the sound through the lever at the drop phase and therefore, could not transmit it toward the second resonator. So the sound would have to go another way ? From the lever at the impact of the drop, toward the other lever, through the mainplate/bridges ? But what could happen oncei reached the other lever ? Well, pretty much nothing if you ask me. Have you ever tried to manipulate a lever while the watch is wounded ? The amount of energy to interfere there would have to be from another order of magnitude compared to the sound that would have travel through the mainplate/bridges. But, for the sake of the argument, let's imagine there is a enough energy reaching that second anchor. To transmit to the second resonator, the first drop would have to occur while the anchor is connected to to the second resonator. And we know this phase is very short. Only when the balance wheel jewel is touching the pallet fork. Before is too late, after is too late.

On the other hand, if we consider ALL three proposals : Armin Strom, Haldimann, and Vianney Halter, we can see that there is a permanent connection between the stud holders. This indeed, is ideal to transmit a vibration in-between both resonators, directly. If you remember about those experiments in the science class demonstrating the resonance phenomenon (available on youtube as well) you will see that the resonators (balance type) are sharing a common link.
This, I DO understand !

A huge arena dome you have on your wrist Aka. I can see some UN Freak inspiration.

Wow x 2

Such a stunning masterpiece. Would love to see it on my wrist at some point

This is a watch that pictures do no justice to. It really must be seen running live or in a video to be fully appreciated.

I remember the first time I saw a video of the original Deep Space. Just, wow, and so much better than the pics.....

It looks inventive and complex, but I do not understand it. No offence.

For me it is a mistery why the creator emphasises that it is acoustic, rather than mechanical, resonance / coupling in a 2 cm thick watch where the balance wheels are seen connected to the same complex mechanical "scaffolding". I remember listening to a F...

This makes perfect sense. I find it easier to see the "mechanical" connection between the balance wheels in Armin Strom's design. Perhaps it adds "mystery" to the complication to have an ethereal, intangible (acoustic) connection between the balance wheel...

How does one tell the time?!

The prototype display

 By: Steyr : January 5th, 2021-15:22
is a simplified display that is telling the hour and the quarter in the upper opening and the minute offset (+0 to +15) in the lower one. The minute can be read with the unit that is showing the matching line. It is the principle that is used on calipers,...

...I believe this one is just incredible ! Glad to see the finished piece complete now after I had the opportunity to see the movement prototype (at least the central module) last summer. Idid take pics but it was too ealy to show the module, all I could ...

Never seen something like this
