all this come to my poor mind not only when I look at the balance wheel but particularly if I look at the entire escapement assembly (from balance to escapement wheel cock...). And these bridges, these bridges.... I was even so blinded that I did not real...

the bridge treatment has sometimes been seen for the balance wheel (in Voutilainen) but as far as I remember not for the complete movement. And it's a lot of work to do one... That contrasting and the gilt frosted plate gives a stunning result. As usual ,...

for Mr. Klings work, why are almost all the chatons damaged? It appears there was a big problem fitting the chatons to their openings in the bridges... Furthermore, the bridge nearest the winding barrel carrying the center/auxiliary wheel has only one poi...

look at the topmost jewel,it looks like the winding barrel jewel. on the left and right has the outer edges of the chaton sheared off? Or am I mistaken and this is a retaining ring of some kind?? All the other chatons also have bits of metal between the c... 

remains a mystery to me. The resolution does - In my opinion - not allow to draw any conclusions on the finishing, at least not through this image. We have to wait for more (and more close-up!) pics. Kind regards, Magnus

unless you don't want to see what is in front of you ;-0) In this case the 2 bits of metal sticking out are there at roughly 9 and 3 o'clock around the winding barrel jewel chaton. If you don't want to talk about it, or feel offended because it is your cu...  

in reference to old masters - others do this as well, just look at A. Lange & Söhne … (who use blued screws). Sure, its not standard, but an interesting interpretation - and certainly deliberately done. BTW, what you inferring is certainly not the cas... 

Look closely at the balance bridges of these two movements - not bad (for a blind eye :-)): Respectfully, Magnus ...  

So you really still cannot see the two bits of metal sticking out of the winding barrel chaton??? And now you want to tell me they are 2 screws by showing me something else? Why this need to obfuscate the obvious? Since you evidently know Klings, and want... 

Been following this thread as I find the movement very beautiful. After looking at the photos several times, I think the two bits of metal sticking out of the "winding barrel chaton" seem to be fixing screws, much like that of the Lange chatons & fixi... 

before we start with claiming obfuscation. As I see it all the chatons are being held by two screws, also the one for the barrel. But pplater will certainly delight us with more pictures soon in which we can better see the situation. Don

Of course it will be interesting to see more pictures of such an interesting watch. And of course there are screws holding the chatons ;-0) Still, none of the above answers the question what the two bits of metal are sticking out of the winding barrel cha... 

To come to a more informed conclusion. Until then I will refrain from further input given the imputations made here which are unworthy in a discussion amongst adults. Magnus P.S.: should I be wrong I will be the first to offer an apology - as it should be... 

Seeing that the only thing you can evidently follow my discussion with is uncalled for mudslinging, by attempting to infer I am not talking in an adult manner worthy of discussion with you, then I am more than pleased to leave you to the horological sandb... 

...how you might come to that conclusion from the picture provided - mea culpa. In other photos it seems that the 'shears' you mention are in fact tiny retaining screws. That is not to say, of course, that the movement is flawless: we each have our own id...
