The pattern, something Romain referred to informally as “the matrix”, is actually engraving on the sapphire crystal dial. It plays nicely in the light, nothing crazy that would blind you rather a bit more subtle.
While in this picture the orange accents are reasonably vivid, I will note that on every day wear the markings on the lower left of the dial, and the seconds hands, can get lost a little.
One feature I do appreciate on these watches is the hacking seconds. Makes it a lot easier to monitor timekeeping performance.

I see your point about the seconds hand. That matrix does look very nice...neat technique to create it!
In this light it’s good, but I find I lose the seconds hand under normal lighting.
It could also be age, and failing eyesight. I can’t lay that on Romain !

Some of my watches are getting harder to read too...lol...who needs the seconds anyway?? And sometimes beauty and design may be placed a bit higher than outright functionality, and that's OK!
I think so. The best so far. But there is more to come so who knows.
I do think for a time only C, this should remain the one that interests me most. I could see myself owning a C4, something opposite to this one.

Aside from my little Swatch, it’s been a number of years since I bought a new watch. This one was worth waiting for. I did very much want an elevated sports watch, these C series from Romain definitely fit that bill.
Sporty for sure, and light (55g).
And while there is a lot to see on the dial, it all works well together and it’s not too much. The bezel is also very appealing, a mix of shape and finish.

41mm, 49.5mm lug to lug.
It’s a little less than 10mm thick, so noticeably slim on the wrist. If I could change anything it would be the lug to lug, a little shorter would be nice. It weighs about 55g, and so on the wrist very comfortable.
Such a nice balance of aesthetic vision, horological craft and sporty flair

55g is quite unbelievable looking at the details and fits the bill for a super time only sports.
