Svend Andersen has been around a long time and I do hope you read the interview link that was in the post.
ThePuristS have been advocated for these "master" watchmakers who often stay quiet (by contractual obligations) behind the scenes at big brands.
You have to appreciate their asthetics. There are some of Mr. Andersen's work that don't catch my eye but I do appreciate the watchwork behind them....

I could have cared less if the watch was a simple calendar but finding another good watchmaker is priceless. That is always the problem with owning watches...the maintenance afterwards which is often dismissed. There may be plentiful of skill watchmakers ...

When I talked to the watchmaker and asked if he could customize a leap year indicator, he told me that there would be no easy and elegant solution. So I wonder why were there two versions? One with a leap year indicator, and another series without? Either...
