I kind of misspoke with the Crash reference. I think it is the most popular/well known asymmetric watch out there and I think new asymmetric models will be compared to it whether it was intended or not. Making the case around the contours of the case makes sense and the result is a very interesting cool looking watch.

Crash vibes although nowhere near a copy. My only question is about what I assume is the crown on the back of the watch. Does/would that affect how comfortable it wears on the wrist?
I think he tried to follow the contours of the movement vs. going for some Crash Vibes...
The Crown on mine is bigger and it's comfortable, I reckon the slimmer crown on the watch by Luc is even more so.
