Speaking of DeBethune…
I saw they have this beautiful new release. Nonetheless, I have previously reached out directly to their HQ/boutique in Switzerland when I was looking for an allocation in the past. I do know that since WatchBox took majority stake they have been directing allocations in the US. I don’t know how they are coordinating in Europe. But they have been responsive and fair as they had agreed to allocating a piece to me before, which I am patiently awaiting.
Since you are close to their HQ, I would consider emailing them and letting them know you’re interested in an allocation and see what they advise.
Other members here will have other thoughts and recommendations for consideration, so we’ll see what they say too.

Interesting, I did not know you felt that way about the brand
I love the brand but I am very much an outsider and so am not familiar with the intricacies of the brand. However, I am surprised that watchbox has made it worse. Is it mostly because of the over hyping and celebrity endorsements?

Watchbox keeps a very tight grip on the watches. It’s a real shame because it is creating an artificial scarcity

I would take the Starry Varius over the DB25
even considering the price difference. It is “more” DeBetbune DNA with the blued titanium center (and stars.) it’s a gorgeous and very wearable timepiece. Thin and light also. I think you will never regret making this purchase. Good luck! ...

Don't judge by pictures only, all DBs are amazing and this more simple DB25 is second to none
I am a happy owner of DB28, DB25 with power reserve and DB15 perpetual. While 25 is more simple than others it is fantastic. Simple is not a bad word. You just need to see that seemingly simple dial close by, it is not simple at all. And those blue hands ...

Yes! I think David Zanetta's role is a lost part of the DB origin story! Ignoring his contribution and influence imho makes for an incomplete understanding of DB's watches.

But like others, I think it’s now tough to justify pricing. What is funny about watchbox is that they told me not to buy one in 2019 😂
Pricing is really on the high side..but I was happy to find a new one at MSRP from an AD
is really something truly special in person. I love this configuration (Starry Varius, Rose Gold) so I went for it. Definitely a grail in my collection.
Personally, I think pricing at MSRP is fair
In particular hand and dial finishing, the parts you look at everyday, are some of the best out there at any price.
