Once again, thanks for indulging me and providing this detailed answer.

It’s gotten me thinking; if I had access to a major manufacture such as Patek or Vacheron or even Rolex, would i become a mono-brand guy? I don’t think so, but then again that is as hypothetical as Patek going under or getting bought. Variety is the spice of life (I’m sure that I’m butchering the common phrase with my plagiarism). The beauty of these independents, and please keep in mind that I’m no EdTonkin or Holdenchamp or watchesonthewrist or any of the other seasoned indie watch collectors. All I’ve got is Habring2, kudoke, Kurono Tokyo and incoming Gronefeld and [in the distant future] a Charles Frodsham. Each of these watches will (or is supposed to) fill a niche in a way that an all-rounder from Patek, Vacheron or Lange can’t fill IMHO
Please bear with me as I explain; Patek’s upper level timepieces (like yours) can be either absolute pieces of art (like your killer dials) or breath-taking movements with classical fine finishing (5270, 5970 etc etc) or both. I am definitely preaching to the pope, here. But none will offer full-hand engraving like Stefan Kudoke’s watches, or have an atypical open movement design with stainless steel bridges like Gronefeld’s principia or have a George-Daniel+Derek-Pratt influenced natural escapement like the Charles Frodsham. Am I making a cogent argument here, if am I all over the place? Each one of these watches will fill a specific role in my collection (which goes against the one-watch thread that I started yesterday 🤣🤣).
Now, what would a greubel forsay offer? I guess classical fine finishing (at the highest level possible, according to SJX et all) while focusing on chronometry and the technology behind chronometry.
Sorry to bore you with this ramble. I guess that someone who can’t even secure a 6119R for their wife (me) and someone with a [well-deserved] vast access to the entire Patek catalogue will never see eye to eye 🤷🏿♂️
