Michel Parmigiani designed this model called the Transforma Rivage to be a true all around watch for Bernand Stamm, the Swiss sailor, during his sailing competition around the world.
So he wanted to create a multi-purpose watch that could be used or worn in several different ways (wrist watch, pocket watch when used with the pocket watch attachment and chain, desktop clock when put into the watch winder which doubles as a desktop clock, and a clock when attached to the control panel on his sailboat.
I will link a video from YouTube below and hope it works as it describes the watch well.
