Love the Steel Wheels edition!
Dec 25, 2019,23:18 PM
I tried this model on before the holidays, love it! It definitely took me a while to come around to the DB28 design with the star trek center bridge but I'm starting to see the design of the watch itself and the trekkie logo less. Currently saving my pennies for the a Grand Blue if I can see one in person...
I think you don't see many DB28s primarily because of the design and the price. The design is super modern so I don't know how many buyers there are that are bought into the design enough to drop $90k on one. Additionally, I think the brand value message is a little muddy: not precious metal, not a lot of obvious complications in the DB28 (2 hand moon), mechanical innovations that haven't been connected to value (e.g. Do the patented balance designs meaningfully improve time keeping? Does the shock protection design mean I can play golf with the DB28?). I still want one so not bashing DB, just my impression as an interested customer who has limited knowledge of the brand.

Nice choice. I wish we'd see more of DB on these pages. Best, Tim
Me as well!

Thanks, Tim!
I wonder why we don’t see more DB?

Is it due to the business uncertainty that DB has had, ownership, management changes etc? Or something else, the design of many of the pieces being too radical? (There are of course several more traditional models). Or something more simple like most of t...

The design is a little too "out there". These are not inexpensive watches and the design does not exactly read as an every day wear. If more people however had a chance to try them on, I think they would discover this is one of the most comfortable watche...
Agree re the “comfort”.

Even with a smaller wrist like mine, so long as you can get the shorter lugs from DB, the floating lugs are perfect in terms of fit.
Very nice, I like this model.

There was a “all black” version I think of the same watch several years ago that really caught my eye. I tried it on several times but in the end it was just a little too big for me.
The lugs WERE my major hangup as well

And probably would still prefer a tamer lug, but the watch is so good otherwise I could easily look past them👍
SUPER COOL...

sorry for shouting :P This DB is looking ultra cool and totally wearable. Super.

It was worn across my seat in a resturant. I felt like approaching him to take a closer look but not brave enough. I spent the whole lunch staring at his wrist. I think he saw me and probably think I was checking out on him instead of his wrist :P

Thanks for posting the picture of my DB, it is such a cool watch. The open-worked design albeit “a little out there” is done to the highest standards. The steel wheels that turn as you wind the watch are marvelous, the balance wheel with silicone, shock a...
