Learning experience...

Life is a learning experience.
All reasoned opinions are valid opinions.
But we all have seen different things up 'til now.
I have been surprised recently to see the amount of machine finishing on expensive watches.
How many people have really held a Voutilainen or a Dufour or even a Gauthier in the hand and examined it closely to see what hand finishing really means?
For me the give aways for machine finishing are exactly the sharp edges, the hard points, the perfectly flat angles.
I want to say they cannot be done that way by hand, but maybe someone will find a way.
Let's say that todays hand finishing is softer, rounder, warmer.
That is exactly the warmth that makes viewing a Voutilainen movement such a vibrant experience.
But that is my humble opinion and if others prefer the hard sharp cornered look, show me the pictures and tell me why you like it so much.  Try to win me over.
It is a different esthetique.
It isn't hand finished 'though, if that is what you want.
