I think when wearing one watch consistently your point makes total sense
But when one starts rotating, then RdM could be more intriguing.
Especially when an automatic has long RdM (e.g. Fifty Fathoms), the tendency to rotate is higher than normal; and then knowing how much more you can play with rotating is very useful.
When it comes to balancing the dial, you are right, but then again, that makes the watch an FPJ thoroughbred in my eyes.

They are great but they have one flaw
I am not sure why but for the most part they don\'t photograph very well. They are always much better looking IRL, probably because of the way light hits the precious metal dials.
