Hand shape reminds me very much of Vianney Halter... which is a great thing and I'm a huge sucker for a slow-beating, oversized balance wheel. Exciting times!

Dan Spitz, former lead guitar for Anthrax, got a full watchmaking education in the US and Switzerland and now he's making his own haute-horology watch with the Libre Excentrique Escapement!!! Holy Smur...well, you know the rest. Here is the link to monoch...

Large balance wheels and independent watchmaking...

...name a better combination. I think we’re in or entering into a new golden age for mechanical watchmaking, with many interesting and appealing watches are being imagined and realized in all corners of the world. Today, there is much more to appreciate t...

I think this is the first "open source" escapement, I'd be interested in learning more about it as well.

You're right that it is a kind of golden age for independent watchmaking, with kickstarter stuff on the low end and this kind of work on the high end.

Also, the escapement should be like a detent, but with better shock resistance.

So, it should have excellent rate stability

I cant wait to see the finished product🤘

I’d suggest looking at his website closely

 By: cazalea : May 5th, 2020-08:12
I checked it out thoroughly a month or two ago, and he appears a bit more proud of himself than the average joe. Details of the watch itself are scarce... at least, not enough for me to have any confidence that it will happen. But I’ve been wrong before. ...

Fair enough, I'm not suggesting anyone put down money yet!

For American watchmakers, there is RGM, and I would put hypothetical money down on Joshua Shapiro, who is very nice. Mr. Shapiro' has been working for over a year on an American movement watch based on a high-grade Hamilton movement. That will be interest...

Another American maker

While Joshua Shapiro is working on his movement, let's not forget David Walter ( Santa Barbara) who has built and continues to offer a very reasonably priced all american wristwatch.( Nothing Hypothetical here)

There’s also Keaton Myrick in Oregon

His first watch is on the wrist of a friend, and he’s delivered others too. ...

Beautiful pieces. I have heard that he is currently not accepting additional orders.

Here’s his latest delivered towards the end of last year

This is the dial that features Josh’s Guilloche Infinity Weave pattern on the sub secs dial. Cheers, Tim ...

Yes and Joshua has made guilloché dials for both David and Keaton.

So, they are all working together.

Will check out his site. Too many Americans..

To quickly choose from.

Ordered mine already...

...Via his AD in Southern CA Not sure I see it as a risk compared to some other US independent watchmakers. His level of skill and funding (I just assume rock stars make good money) set his apart for others. Looking forward to its arrival!
