I’m not familiar with any of the persons but I am very familiar with situations were downpayments are not honored and with debt collection.
Without making any accusations and without any judgement I do feel the need to share that in my experience the vendor comes up with “family issues, health issues, travel etc” as reasons for not responding, it is 99 out of a 100 times bad news for the buyer.
Not sayin* that that’s the case here, just raising a yellow flag for those concerned

I've let them know about your concerns, they've told me that they have had a few personal problems (family members health issues), and they will be back on track soon. I guess there is no reason to worry. Vte
