First post, difficult decision!
Dear All,
My first post here, I've been reading the forum for a long time and very thankful for the treasure trove of information it has provided me.
I have a tough decision to make, and would like to get some input from you all, as I am sure the answers will be very interesting and insightful.
I am about to send a MB&F LM1 white gold / black dial for a service and a re-finish, as the case is quite scratched up. MB&F told me that if I wanted, they could refinish the watch to the new updated look, with polished bezel and lugs as opposed the the original brushed ones (the new look is like the Dubai edition).
I'm really torn about this one, and can't tip the scale to either side.
What do you guys think, original or updated?

I would also keep it original.
That is a part of the reason you fell in love with it in the first place.
I would trust MB&F with one caveat
Chris, MB&F know their products best. It may be that your watch is so banged up that a complete mirror polish is easier to do than trying to bring back the satin finish. Your question made it seem like an option but what if it is a serious nudge by MB&F t...

chris, Thinking a bit more, the mixed shiny and satin finish adjacent to each other on the updated case is better and not an easier route! As it is by MB&F, it is "original" and an upgraded design approved by the Maker. It also makes your watch unique...o...
I’d ask them to polish just the lug tops and brush the sides, and leave the bezel brushed.
If you have it polished, it’ll pick up scratches, which will be more noticeable. I’d also want that rehaut mirror polished, like it appears to be in some images of the blue dial version, and the green Dubai one.
IMHO original has its own presence...updates are good but can't replace the originals !
