Am I correct in thinking that tarnishing will happen to silver over a relative short time ? Which may explain the discoloration ? [nt]

think it's an easy fix though. Joshua Shapiro seems like a competent dial maker, am sure he can sort things out. Just clean the dial and then have a clear lacquer over it. I suspect the decision to use silver for the dial is for aesthetics. Silver is whit...
