Don't do it!

The FPJ Bleu is a stunning watch. I cannot possibly imagine what you are trading for that will look better on your wrist (but like everyone on this thread, can't wait to know!). Stay strong!

not a great feeling..

On my way to London for business; have arranged meeting with a seller for a swap...I look forward to the new watch...but letting go my Journe Bleu is really giving me bad feeling; should I just "miss" the plane? What if I have remorse after?...can I still...

it depends...

 By: mahesh : November 1st, 2016-00:15
what you're trading against... also it is good to think, why the other person is ready to trade his for a FPJ CB ?! which ever the choice is, do what your 'heart' says... Best, mahesh.,

my flight has just been canceled!!

Bad weather in London! Will probably get rebooked on a later one. Is that a sign!!? I did approach the seller, had to add some $ for the trade. Still, cannot avoid this feeling, I have it on my wrist now and it's like the first time I'm wearing it, keep l...

Sigh... been there, done that!

watches have the dratted propensity to evoke the wrong feelings at the wrong time... Magnus

I guess I've asked for it...

 By: Alex83 : November 1st, 2016-03:25
I knew I had just to wrap the Bleu and bring it in a box out of my view, still have decided to strap it on and suffer...sweet torture..

you might be right my friend..

 By: Alex83 : November 1st, 2016-00:40
On the other hand I made a choice when approaching the seller. Guess I will meet him, have a look at the other one, compare them and either make the swap, either tell him I'll pay in full for the new one! Again, should not have strapped this today.. ...

Your FP Journe is on my wish list close to the top so I am little biased in my answers ;-)

 By: Alkiro1 : November 1st, 2016-00:48
I wish you to take the right decision. May be when you will have the other watch on your wrist, you will be totally convinced in swapping your FP Journe... or not! Best wishes Alkiro

Personally :-)

I believe the Chronometre Bleu is a keeper and is one of the best 3 handed manual watches available in the market (Roger Smith, Philip Dufour and Kari Voutilainen are at a different level in terms of price, exclusitivity and movement finish). Irrespective...

Thanks dear Sham...

I really THINK you are right...let's see what I FEEL when seeing both watches together. The one am looking for also highly coveted, discontinued and a little marvel... The more I wait the more I feel I will come back home full handed..

Alex, we've all been there.

 By: Bounce781 : November 1st, 2016-02:45
My feeling is that you are having temporary regret. You initially were happy to trade this away but now because the day is near you are "being emotional" about it (in a good way Just remember why you initially were happy to dispense with this watch to tra...

you are also right my friend.

Although I thought the Bleu was no longer in production?

A clarification

 By: sham1 : November 1st, 2016-05:48
The bleu is definitely still in production but has a long waiting list. What is not in production are the 38mm models which have been discontinued. Pity really as they were a good size.

38mm model was the best size

 By: Bounce781 : November 1st, 2016-11:33
Why did they stop making it?

There was never a 38mm Bleu

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : November 1st, 2016-17:11
It's 39mm. The 38mm Chronometre Souvrain and Octa models are discontinued, 40mm is the size now, with the Octa Divine men's model available at 42mm. This is what people were asking for and buying.

that is a surprise, my friend.

But I know you would like it Both watches are completely different, except for the color

not 5070P...I wish!

 By: Alex83 : November 1st, 2016-03:31
I do have a 5070G. But you are looking in the right direction my dear Dr Kol..

Might be 5140P. Not bad either

 By: dr.kol : November 1st, 2016-10:37
and 5270G with blue dial would rock & roll. Best Kari

i know this feeling very well as I have been there a few times.

 By: keks : November 1st, 2016-00:43
In every instance however, the seller has been a great person, and once home with the new piece no regrets whatsoever. The Bleu is phenomenal, but I am sure you know what you are giving it up for. I would not think too hard about it at this point, just go...

thanks my friend!

I think it will be a last minute decision, once I confront the new one!

Clearly you should stay at home.

 By: dr.kol : November 1st, 2016-00:57
Having that kind of feelings, a trade is not a good idea. Perhaps later when you are sure. Best Kari

well, I should have staid in bed with my wife a few more hours, that's for sure!

 By: Alex83 : November 1st, 2016-01:10
There seem to be strong fog in London and planes cannot land. Not sure how long I'll be trapped in zurich airport, but have to go there for business. Worse case I will do it "Ala Dr. Kol", bring both watches back home!

Two are better than one!

I feel that often we change just in order to change plus in order to get new experience. No! I am not speaking about women. This time... Too many times I have given away something I love just in order to get something new. Often it is not a good idea. Goo...

getting back a woman will be much more expensive

 By: Alex83 : November 1st, 2016-03:02
Than getting back a watch, for sure! My plane is finally leaving in 1 hour; let's see the candidate side to side with the Journe a make a call...might come back with a watch on each wrist!

I try to avoid pre-loved...

be careful when selling certain things

9 years ago my daughter was born and...long story short...I had to sell my Porsche 911 997.1, decision that I started to regret soon after. The regret was aggravated every time I saw one passing by. The remorse grew year after year and so is my daughter. ...

thanks R. !

 By: Alex83 : November 1st, 2016-01:30
That is my biggest worry, my attention is most of the times drawn to the resonance, tourbillon, octa-line...but I feel the Bleu might be THE Journe to own on the long run (well, tourbillon 1st generation too)... Plus I got the Bleu at such a great price 4...

It's a tough decision

 By: NML77 : November 1st, 2016-01:59
But personally I would not trade the bleu. I probably don\'t wear mine as much as I should but every time I do it is complete enjoyment. It\'s a stunning watch and one that I do not intend to part with. Good luck.

that's one of the things that prompted me to request the trade;

 By: Alex83 : November 1st, 2016-03:03
Not wearing enough the Journe! Guess that's the problem when you just have too many watches..

Don't do it!

lol, I am so divided right now..

One side of my brain saying something and the other the opposite. Think best will be to stop thinking, wait to see the new one..and listen to my heart!

Yep, go with the heart

The brain is confused right now

Went back and forth on selling my CB for a while. Same issue, just don't wear it enough. I figured out that it's more of a colder weather watch as the deep blue and grey tantalum case gives the watch a mix of both somber and elegance. So I gave myself the...

I longed for the FP Journe CB for the longest time. Wanted it so badly. Until one day... I go to see one of my ADs and he tells me... "What? Why do you like FP Journe so much? You do know that their watches are always problematic?". He then proceeded to t...

Well-Made

 By: cervantes77 : November 1st, 2016-09:20
I've had no problems with my Journe's nor have friends of mine. His watches are incredibly well-made.

I think you should do it, not because the CB is a bad watch

 By: alex : November 1st, 2016-10:35
it isn't, in fact it is a phenomenal watch but since you had gone through the whole thought process of trading it, it means that you were ready to move on so you're just having seller remorse but will pass rapidly

I couldn't agree more, Alex.

Once a watch or watches have been seriously considered for trading, I think it is just a question of time before they go for good. I remember desperately wanting one vintage watch belonging to a friend. Wanting trades instead of cash he made me work very ...

But guest what there is a reason why you did it, isn't it? Like the others have said lucky it is a piece that Journe will not stop producing anytime soon. "knocks on wood" has been a piece I've been always wanting my self but I'm in a pickle too. When a f...
