My preference is try before I buy, but it doesn’t always happen.
There are two Hublot retailers close to me. One retailer does not have any Big Bang Unico 42mm models in stock, but they are able to bring one in from another location for a 20% refundable deposit. I don’t want to go that route.

My Integral Ceramic Blue 42mm is about 49.3mm lug-to-lug length and 13.8mm case thickness. I am more concerned with wider lug-to-lug length. I’d like to be able to try one on locally before pulling the trigger online.

Does that mean that if they get the watch to be viewed, there is an obligation to take that watch or another watch? Or would you get the deposit back? This is, what you wrote (“refundable”). But then what would be the point of this deposit?
