Yep, that’s pretty freaking cool. Thx for sharing.

Not sure whether I prefer the white or black dial.

Curious to know which dial configuration was viewed as being more practical for military (or at least “professional”) use.

While it seems black dial / white marker configurations ultimately won out, there are several examples of military watches extant with white dials and blackened, blued or luminous markers. When and why did the change occur?  Or did it?

And could one ask a similar question about automotive instruments?

Random Monday evening questions.

Merci.

Ok, there are some scratches on the plexy, but what a marvel! The step bezel, the 37 / 38 mm case, the dial and... The movement of course! Every good collector should have a 13 ZN and / or a 30 CH in his collection. This one is in my dreams. Best, Nicolas...

Even if I show you this one? ;)

I’d like to believe in WPS’ might in the watch fora world, and that Longines would have to pay us attention and play ball once they notice that the collector

with hundreds of [insert highly-regarded brand name] also owns vintage or modern Longines, wears them with pride, and would like to discuss the pieces with similar-minded folk. Please excuse my naïvety

If you don’t own all the important pieces, you certainly have detailed photos of all of them 😉

Which is a good start! ;)

There are a lot of passionate Longines collectors out there...

 By: ztirual : December 20th, 2021-16:56
These collectors have been communicating between them for a long time and are meeting every so often around or with the help of the brand. The concept of a Longines forum, where all info is shared in the open, is a dead one. We all know what has happened ...

Glad to hear that there is a community.

Where I live, Longines gets no love. I’m not here to defend the commercially-focused watch info platforms, but I don’t see that any of the alleged plagiarism has slowed down any of the current WPS forums (e.g. Patek, Rolex, Journe, AP) or put a damper on ...

My view is that there is very little real content today in comparison to, say, what happened about 10 years ago.

Most of today's stuff is "look at me stuff". Some collectors contribute occasionally to content-rich websites such SJX revolution, A collected Man, etc., where they can, if they so wish, sign their articles in their own name...

Indeed, I’ve read some of those articles, and I have to admit that I wasn’t on this forum back then.

But several posts per day are informative ones that go beyond the “see what I am wearing”. For example, a purist published a lovely long-form post highlighting the untapped trove of parmigiani fleurer watches. Regardless, I would like to encourage big Lon...

Another beauty!
