We all know there are tons of grey market dealers out there, and frankly, I have yet to come across one that is outright dishonest. First, if the watch is new, any experienced collector can tell, and I guess new is all we're really talking about. If it's used, it's not grey market.
My forever wonder is how do they source all these hard to get watches? What AD would be willing to tran-ship a desirable watch for a small markup, especially with the limited allocations for their retail customers and the chance that they get caught and loose the line?
Grey market dealers with good reputations are all over the Internet, Ebay, and many have store fronts. It's nothing new. In the old days many brands didn't care as they just wanted to move inventory, so they turned a blind eye. But today, the business is different, yet the grey guys still have tons of NIB watches for sale at substantial discounts.
Anyone have a clue?
