One thing I have seen is the passion that MOST of us have, in defending the moderators of this site. I haven't been here that long, probably since 2005 or 2007, I forget now, and I don't post that frequently... But the passion and dedication that moderators have here, the value that they add for us, is very much appreciated by me.
Someone quoted that there are now many places on the net where horological I formation is available. I should know, I frequent most of them. But when I want a serious discussion about watches, about movements, finishing, how it wears, etc etc I will always back home here. If I have any questions, I will always post here. Why? Because the knowledge accumulated amongst the gentlemen here cannot be replicated anywhere else, barring specialist vintage watch sites.
The guys here are the real deal, they have been into horology before most of the world understood it, before the days of Google, Facebook, and lately instagram.... If I want to see gold watches surrounded by bottles of champagne and a Ferrari, in a nightclub in Vegas, I go else where but when it comes to serious discussions about horology and the love of horology , this is where to come.
Hence the name, Purists.... It took me a few years to understand that concept, but I do now.
Kind appreciation for all your work,
Imran
