We sometimes go too far as to protect our watches far better...
...than we protect our own skin! Think about it! Material things are for wearability and to have them scratched accidentally is ok, look at our cars, which are more expensive in where i live and the car suffers greater than our watches and we can live with that? Food for thought. All my watches have scratches and dings no matter how careful i am. I get a cut on the finger, its ok, but not my watches? I kinda give up protecting them / wrapping a shopping beg around them, just wear them around the wrists and be natural about it. We find more happiness that way. We should not be slaves to our watches but the other way round, bluntly put it.
how do you feel when you scratch your watch?
Noticed theres another new hairline scratch on my stainless steel bezel. Its either the crowd or the it got scratched on a surface. Thing is i treat my watches very well. Major Heartache 4 me!! Why is the stainless steel so damn fragile!
Rolex Prince buckle
A quick cellphone pic of the buckle of my Rolex Prince. It is a pretty big and massive thing, but fits the watch wonderfully. Since my job primarily consists of working at a desk, it got scratched quite a bit, but I do not really mind.......

I take a philosophical approach
I have a UTS 1000m v2 GMT with a couple of microscopically small dings on the bezel. I've come to view them as "battle scars" for a watch I love and wear all the time. If I didn't like a watch I wouldn't wear it. And if I didn't wear it I wouldn't scratch...
What a hypocrite I am...
After reading these posts, this thing just stuck in my head. So I took my UTS diver down to my local jeweler in Greenwich, who is smoothing out one particularly bothersome (though microscopically small) nick at 11:00 on the edge of the bezel. Go figure......
