Horological Meandering

No, I haven't experienced what you are describing ...

... but I wouldn't have accepted two 'new' watches in that condition from a Boutique. A discontinued, shop-soiled, watch is possibly a different matter and one that I may take if I am happy with the price given the condition and the work required to bring it back to a satisfactory state.

Hard to know if the missing screw and poor fitting of the sapphire crystal is a factory fault, or if something has happened afterwards. However, the usual international warranty should apply and I would suggest that you give Cartier an opportunity to rectify the issues to your satisfaction.

As a general comment, we are happy to discuss Boutique experiences, as this is important feedback for the companies as well, but I do not want to see anyone using these public forums to apply leverage to the companies, particularly when we can only hear one side. I trust you understand.

I look forward to hearing the outcome of your issues. Hopefully Cartier will step up and deliver the service they are renowned for.

Regards

Andrew
