We decided to dry out at a watch store . . .
. . . so we took a cab across town to a vintage establishment where I laid eyes for the first time on my favorite JLC in the metal . . .
. . . the sublime skeleton Reverso that is just perfect for my wrist. Steve G's photos do it better justice than my efforts, that's for sure. Mike was perusing a few watches, notably a DeBethune and a Wempe Nomos chronometer . . .
. . . but apparently hadn't indulged enough to dampen his inhibitions, and we walked out with our wallets intact. This being Boston, there was yet another Irish pub a few yards away, Daisy Buchanan's . . .
. . . where we commiserated over our inability to pull the trigger over a few rounds of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Every Purist should have a support group like this!
The Boston Purists gathering last Friday . . .
. . . started with the First Annual Purists Pub Crawl in the early afternoon, with Mike T, Scott D . . . . . . and myself kicking off the proceedings at The Black Rose for lunch . . . . . . and the first of several rounds of fine ales and beers....

it amazes me how easily it appears to have a GTG in US and Asia, but in UK we've managed 1. a brilliantly organised one, but still only 1. i think it has a lot to do with ease of travel as getting anywhere in UK is a nightmare. lovely selection of watches...
