Unfortunately my knowledge of Omega watches
is not very big, so I would not dare to find a period-correct 18 kt buckle for a 1966 model - I believe you that they are very hard to find. I am looking for a pair of H.C. bracelet Endlinks for a Polerouter 869119 myself - absolutely impossible to find anything so far. I know how difficult it can be to source certain parts... 
You know you are seriously into a certain brand
when you start collecting vintage buckles as an excuse to add the matching watches later...🙈😅 Some doctors may call it a serious mental condition but hey - that is how vintage watch collecting works, no cure through therapy, only through steady new acquis...
Love it !!! UG is such a great brand, and finding the correct buckle (regardless of the brand is so difficult), I agree with you, when buckles are sold, they should be bought just in case !!! :D Congrats on the collection and please share your UGs !
Here are mine (to date): Old one from 1943: Polerouter estimated 1960/61 And lastly the Monodatic, apparently very first series (1951/52). You can see the case design from Genta that was then used in the Polerouters : None of your buckles would suit me !!...

the Monodatic is my favourite of these 3! At the moment I only have a Polerouter 869119 and a Ferrovie dello Strato railroad watch but unfortunately I can´t wear any of them at the moment as the Polerouter needs to be serviced and the FS is out for a serv...
