Dear all, Every time we attain a watch, there is the next best watch we could have obtained. Sometimes, we trade or sell pieces to attain the time piece that our heart beckons us to attain. Here are my two watches pains me to think of losing in a trade an...

I guess....

I could say I regret selling two watches - the basic Omega Speedmaster and the TAG Heuer Monza. Both of 'em were really well worn and thoroughly enjoyed before I had to let them go. Cheers, Filip

All the time :).

The Speedmaster will be re-purchased in an even better variant certainly and even the Monza is up there as a possibility. Cheers, Filip

...

Up to now, no regrets.

 By: Jay (Eire) : May 24th, 2018-15:32
This is mostly attributed to 1) me very rarely selling (~10 watches over 20+ years) and 2) when I have the incoming has always been better mechanically, aesthetically, historically or just in terms of suitability / wearability (e.g. I've sold almost every...

Those are very valid points.

I made that trade thinking it was my best shot at the watch at that point in time. Trading merely 10 watches over 20 years is remarkable; to me it speaks of you discipline, careful thinking, that you're very much in tune with your taste as well as stabili...

There have been some impulsive buys, but only a few. And I think I've been lucky with my choices at times.

Lucky insofar as choosing the more established or classic model within a brand lineup or more establish brand over something newer, hotter, trendier, blog favourite etc.

Moonwatch for me

 By: jayeyedoubleemmwhy : May 24th, 2018-16:07
I purchased a pre-owned Omega Speedmaster Pro Moonwatch but immediately had doubts about it because I thought 42mm was too big for my wrist. Sold it after a few months, but then came to regret the decision. This was right when I started a two year watchma...

There's been a few watches that I occasionally miss. The one that stands out the most is the Cartier Tank Basculante ref. 2390.

Still till today no regrets .

I am allways looking for the next ,,new,, watch . And when i do let go of a watch its because i want a upgrade of that model or brand .

One special Patek.....

 By: baufoam : May 24th, 2018-23:00
The first Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar that I ever bought. It is a 3940 with a Dore dial. I sold the watch twice and bought it back twice! This happened over a time frame of about 10 years. Unhealthy, unsound, un -economical! That watch β€œbit” me hard....

I sold this one about 3 years ago- I just could not wear it. Too gold

 By: watch-guy.com : May 24th, 2018-23:47

no... Best, Thomas

Ah, so this regret echoes my own, just that it is amplified by a thousand times!

 By: jh8cw : May 25th, 2018-08:47
I'm starting to think the only means of not having such regrets is to hold on to our pieces and accumulate at the expense of having watches in your collection that you don't wear as much. Not sure whether that path is worth it!

This one I regret...

I feel the pain vicariously just glancing at the Blancpain divers and the Reverso movement!

Such classy pieces, and that Panerai piece is probably the classiest one I've seen so far! I hope they were replaced by amazing pieces...

This definitely!
