Intrinsic value - the actual value of the piece. In this case, a 6000T is worth about the same as a 6000G - one could argue the T is worth even less than the G since Gold is more valuable than titanium. One could also assign a "practical" value for the rarity of the 6000T. But practical would be debatable.
Extrinsic value - most of the value of rarity, bragging rights, exclusivity, owning something special and one of a kind, is applied here. Here, the extrinsic value is apparently too high for both you and me. Would I rather own a 6000T (low intrinsic value, high extrinsic value) or a Patek Philippe 5970P (which at the time was even less expensive than what the 6000T went for)? That 5970P has high intrinsic value and at the time low extrinsic value.
