The PuristS, and its current incarnation, PuristSPro, were created from the outset . . .

. . . as virtual cocktail parties, where discourse could be made with the restraints inherent in polite company. Not, I might add, entirely as an end in its own right, but also by way of contrast to the rest of the Internet, where the balance between vileness and censorship is a constant struggle. Here, people participate as they would at a cocktail party: offering opinions honestly held, thoughtfully expressed so as not to personally offend, or come off as self-aggrandizement. This was Thomas' design; it is, to the best of my knowledge, one of few Internet forums that (mostly) functions in this manner.
The issues I had with you previously were mainly concerned with your inappropriate sexual content. Others, especially Mike, were perturbed by more serious matters, mostly pertaining to undisclosed compensation from the industry, as well as overt discussion of the financial aspects of watch collecting. I am grateful you've managed to curtail sexual innuendos from recent postings. The other issues remain.
As Salman previously noted, this is our house. You may be important, and what you have to say may also be, but the community here by and large is aggravated not so much by what you say as how you say it. There are objections to your motives as well; these, I'm not well informed of. But please don't make the mistake of claiming others hate you. You are not important enough to hate. ISIS is. You are merely a member of an online community interested in watches. If you would comport yourself like the rest of us, you would once again be a welcome participant here.
Cordially,
Art
