While I am a relative newcomer and have really only been viewing PuristSPro for a year or 2 now, in the short time I have been here I have become a voracious consumer of the vast amount of thoughtful content from member's daily posts, and the incredible archive which has be amassed over the history of the site. Upon reading my personal first Dr. BC post, I was immediately hooked by your Confuscian style of writing, keen observations and teachings, and of course THE COLLECTION. In the recent months I have been following your posts ever closer and reading the responses of accusations of your alterior motives... first thinking "what's the big deal", later realizing the mods have a righteous beef, and now today with your own admittance.

Art description of Thomas' vision of Purists in my view has largely been realized, which IS unique and every effort should be made to keep it this way. It's too good to ruin. Your posts - when inside of the guidelines - are too good to ruin as well, as you get down to the real nitty gritty like almost (I say almost as I'm still new and don't want to leave out contributors I may have missed) no one else. You talk with finesse about screwheads... who heck shares info on SCREWHEADS?! The brands (and their stupid data points), never utter a word about screwheads. Screwheads, as it turns out, are fascinating!

If only the industry heads could compensate you for sharing your knowledge of what makes Swiss watches great, whetting the appetite of the collector community through education of why RM can get $150k for a seemingly simple chronograph on a rubber strap, why GF feels their tourb must sit at 30 degrees, and so on and so forth I would be all for it. We the forum members, as watch lovers, and armed with your invaluable information, can come to our own conclusions of the value of the watches and where the future prices are headed. With my economic standing, no matter how much I work/save/borrow will not allow me to buy timepieces of your caliber, but I surely enjoy reading about them. I can't/won't be influenced by speculation and the promise of future earnings of my perfectly finished quad tourbillon, but I can definitely respect the blood and sweat in took to create these contemporary masterpieces.

I write all this to you because you are a great contributor to this site and your technical related content would be sorely missed. The mods seem to really mean business this time and I hope you will choose smartly. How do the brands (and easy to guess which brands) feel that you have aired out the dirty laundry? Isn't it kind of over anyway?

4 Macromania Intentions and failures

 By: bernard cheong : June 28th, 2015-00:04
Greetings. Especially to Mods. Also to the watch collectors and those department heads involved of brands. Macromania was an idea I mooted to the brands I met in 2009 after I persuaded Massimo Landi to help me recreate the Geneva GPHH, I discussed over a ...

After reading 4 macromania, do Greubel Forsey owners look like this?

 By: bernard cheong : June 28th, 2015-01:53
My family. My home. I had to borrow some money to buy a Greubel Forsey...madness. That's what I call a profile of a collector. Well, at least, it says something about both brand vs buyers. How much I treasure it. How I can't afford it. But had to trade in...

I really love photos like this one, because show how we are living. the mess on the desk is funny, it means someone lives and works there.

Ronald, let's carry on this discussion in a new thread. It is an interesting and I think relevant topic
