URWERK HAS DONE IT AGAIN! They've made another incredible creation! A SUPER COOL NIXIE CLOCK! It stands 1.6 meters tall! Weighs 40 KG!!! What kind of box does this come in? A crate? EIGHT! 8! Eight Nixie tubes displaying hours, minutes, seconds, and hundr...  

I think we need to throw in a bid! Maybe we'll get lucky? You never really know sometimes!

This creation is amazing! I bet it's even more impressive in person once you factor in the size and scale of it! 1.6 meters! It's the height of an average lady! Very impressive! And it looks sooo cool.

In the press release, it is mentioned that this will be the start of a new line of clocks, likely Nixie clocks, that will be released in 2024! Obviously, this new line of clocks coming out in 2024 will be a more "normal" version. And this 40 KG version is... 

In a much smaller version and at an affordable price.

But they might make a 6 tube version at a lower price. Define "affordable" though, as this definition definitely changes from one mind to another. A 6 tube version will definitely cost at least something in the five figure range. I'd say at least $15,000 ... 

Define affordable in this case. Fir that price, I would want highly accurate/precise timekeeping. I ready have a Nixie tube watch.

It all depends on how much interest is generated. And how loose people's purse strings are... It may hammer for only a few thousand Francs if nobody is interested. It may go for A LOT OF MONEY if a large group of people are interested. The cost to manufac...

Would be impressive I think

Photographs probably don't do it justice. But knowing URWERK and having been to Urwerk's offices and knowing Felix Baumgartner for many many years (WatchProSite has been a resource for these small independent brands for 20 years) and knowing Dalibor Farny... 

Who knows... In 2021, the charity auction was very successful. But in 2021, people were wealthy. People were also afraid their lives were going to end so they wanted to go out with a BANG! Stock market was up. Crypto was up. Money was cheap! Now, the econ... 

Urwerk will eventually make a line of Nixie clocks starting in 2024. But this is one exceptional example. The piece that launches the line... Which they will auction off for charity.

I have no idea what it'll sell for. I wonder if it'll go to a watch person or if it'll bring in someone who's totally not into watches and clocks but a total Star Wars fan...

Looks pretty cool. Will be interested to read more about this and the upcoming clock series. While I do own a DF Nixie, as Patrick well knows, I will say the design of the clocks are not so inspiring. There are so many directions would coils take in terms...
