It all depends on how much interest is generated. And how loose people's purse strings are... It may hammer for only a few thousand Francs if nobody is interested. It may go for A LOT OF MONEY if a large group of people are interested.
The cost to manufacture is a different story. But that metal lightsaber base must have cost thousands to design and machine. Especially since it's a one-off. The circuit board was probably custom printed for this piece. I've never seen a NIXIE clock with 8 displays, so the board has to have more space to accommodate the 8 displays. The 8 tubes themselves are on a custom rack that is designed for 8 tubes. The glass tube that encloses it all has to be blown by hand and mouth in some artisan workshop. It's probably a glass cylinder, but they have to heat one end in order to close it. The cost make this one off piece is easily in the 10K to 20K Swiss franc range, possibly even more than that! Not to mention all the time and back-and-forth, etc. which is probably not really accounted for. All being generously donated!

URWERK HAS DONE IT AGAIN! They've made another incredible creation! A SUPER COOL NIXIE CLOCK! It stands 1.6 meters tall! Weighs 40 KG!!! What kind of box does this come in? A crate? EIGHT! 8! Eight Nixie tubes displaying hours, minutes, seconds, and hundr...

This creation is amazing! I bet it's even more impressive in person once you factor in the size and scale of it! 1.6 meters! It's the height of an average lady! Very impressive! And it looks sooo cool.

In the press release, it is mentioned that this will be the start of a new line of clocks, likely Nixie clocks, that will be released in 2024! Obviously, this new line of clocks coming out in 2024 will be a more "normal" version. And this 40 KG version is... 

The tubes themselves won't get any smaller...

But they might make a 6 tube version at a lower price. Define "affordable" though, as this definition definitely changes from one mind to another. A 6 tube version will definitely cost at least something in the five figure range. I'd say at least $15,000 ...

Define affordable in this case. Fir that price, I would want highly accurate/precise timekeeping. I ready have a Nixie tube watch.

That they had lots of fun with this project and that they were very glad to have found each other! Dalibor told me he had a lot of fun with the Urwerk team to develop this and Felix is very happy too! I see a new relationship blossoming! I hope someone on...

Photographs probably don't do it justice. But knowing URWERK and having been to Urwerk's offices and knowing Felix Baumgartner for many many years (WatchProSite has been a resource for these small independent brands for 20 years) and knowing Dalibor Farny...

Looks pretty cool. Will be interested to read more about this and the upcoming clock series. While I do own a DF Nixie, as Patrick well knows, I will say the design of the clocks are not so inspiring. There are so many directions would coils take in terms...
