Horological Meandering

I got my Seiko 5 back from a routine service the other day, and after being apart for a few weeks I did start to feel the onset of that old adage, "absence makes the heart grow fonder." For whatever reason, my enjoyment of this simple, inexpensive, robust...  

And I suppose the tuneup under the hood makes it run perfectly again. I recently polished the acrylic crystals on a number of well used watches. It was astonishing how much more they pop after 90 seconds work. A lot of detail and nuance now show up, and t... 

It's amazing what a teeny bit of TLC will do to a well-used watch. I do hope there will be a GS event at some point. I'm excited to see the watches in the metal. Of course, I hope we won't have to wait too long before your next visit! I thought of you the...

Daos, Thanks for the puppy-watch shot. Here in Singapore, the cost of servicing a Seiko 5 is more than buying it new, after (gasp! talking about $) local discount. Thus, Seiko 5 may be run without (gasp again!) servicing until it dies (almost never) and t...
