Chronograph in 1968 was a Croton made by Nivada Grenchen. It went into salt water (as prescribed by Beach Patrol) twice a day for 3 summers. Someone 'borrowed' it from my gym locker in 1971.
That really is a stunning looking Certina DS PH200M and if I didn't know better would of thought it was a vintage watch.
I think what really gives it such a strong vintage vibe is that beautiful bezel and as you say that is a lot of watch for the money. Marc
