You correctly stated that the natural state SL, designated C3, is the most efficient luminous agent. Many people believe that the bright white C1 should be shining brighter, since it is white. However, that one has a composition different from all C3 derivates (most colour-tinted SuperLuminova paints are based on C3, mixed with colour pigments), and is inferiour to the latter in every respect. So for optimum luminosity performance one should always prefer the typically light-green C3 SL on a watch dial; the thicker it is applied there, the better.
