Swatch was what I collected as a boy
Every summer holiday I would go on a holiday trip with my parents and they would give me some pocket money for the trip. I remember it like around 50 €. That would be exactly enough to by myself a new swatch. And so I would build my first watch collection. It also planted the idea my brain that it made perfect sense to have several of the same watches. Because even if they were basically the same, they where also so different that it was wsomething to get excited over and that would fit different moods. I did also collect cheap quartz dive watches but I’m not sure I understood, at the time, there was an underlying theme. Very different with my swatch watches, I would start to look at shop windows to dream about the next one, every where the logo popped up.

Swatch was what I collected as a boy
I owned, wore and traded during the Swatch hype (ca. 1987 - 1993) about 80 Swatches.
Yeah, I remember the days when people traded Swatch watches very often.
I think most of is have or had something from Swatch at some point.
