Since when is your passion into horology
Gents, it would be interesting to hear our story why, when and how the passion in horology start affecting our life.
I have been observing for the past 10 years, the rise of mechanical watch making also began during 2000 era,
this can be seen by a numerous independent watch makers after the period,
Franck Muller was a famous example, then FP Journe, etc etc
and more and more people also become passionate after this period, is it true? correct me if I am wrong.
is it the same with your view? do you have interest in mechanical watch before that or after as well,
what was it back then
would be interested to hear any comment
best,
Eddy

My first mechanical watch was a Seiko Kinetic in the year 1993-4, i think... Still did not pay too much attention to that... once I saw the Lange 1, it was love and thats how the horology bug has bitten me, and I never looked back since... Cheers, GG

. . . and I can pinpoint the actual moment, when I first caught glimpse of a complicated watch - probably a triple-date with moonphase, possibly an Omega - on a relative's dresser. I would've been six at the time . . .

Is when I first started to recognize a nice watch. Something I picked up from my father. Was not until college that I saved up for my first "real" watch (omega speed master). Not until the past few years did I start studying watches.

I first became interested in mechanical watches when I played with my late grandfather's non-functioning manually wound watch movement that had popped out of its case. I don't recall what brand it was (as I was ~8 years old) but I remember be very taken b...
